Kristian Franklin is a certified hair care formulator, beauty founder, and industry thought leader shaping the future of clean curly and textured haircare.
She is the visionary behind Angelic Organics, a luxury plant-based brand redefining how women with curly and coily hair care for themselves. Guided by the belief that hair rituals are sacred, Kristian blends ancestral healing practices with modern cosmetic science to create EU-compliant, high-performance products that prioritize safety, sustainability, and results.
Her journey began at 20 after cutting all her chemically treated hair off and realizing the scarcity of effective, clean options for textured hair. What started as kitchen experiments rooted in ancestral wisdom has grown into a fast-emerging beauty brand known for its spa-like formulations, community-driven approach, and transformative message of self-reconnection.
“When clean beauty surged, textured hair was left behind. Seventy percent of the most-used products for textured hair contain toxins, yet only three percent of the clean beauty market serves curly hair.”
For Kristian, the inspiration to create Angelic Organics came from a deeply personal place. She recalls struggling with her hair as a teenager, relying on chemical relaxers that eventually left it damaged and falling out.
By the age of 20, she made the bold decision to cut off her hair in hopes of embracing her natural curls. What she found instead was an empty shelf where clean, effective products for textured hair should have been. Her determination to change that reality led her into extensive research on ingredients, eventually enrolling in a UK-accredited program in natural haircare formulation. With the knowledge she gained from chemists and biologists, Angelic Organics was born.
Kristian quickly identified a massive gap in the beauty industry. While clean beauty surged, textured hair was often left out of the conversation. Seventy percent of the most-used products for textured hair contain toxins linked to hormone disruption, infertility, and even cancer. Only three percent of the clean beauty market serves curly hair, despite the fact that 60 percent of the U.S. population has it.
Angelic Organics emerged to bridge that gap by creating hormone-safe, EU-compliant products made with ancestral ingredients like shea butter, rosemary, and amla. From their mint clarifying shampoo to their sacred hair oil, each product is designed to lock in moisture, reduce breakage, and protect the health of women who deserve safe and effective options.
“What started as kitchen experiments rooted in ancestral wisdom has grown into a luxury plant-based brand.”
What sets Angelic Organics apart in an oversaturated beauty market is its commitment to 100 percent plant-based formulations tailored specifically for curly and textured hair. The brand is on track to become the first U.S. company in its sector to receive EU clean certification, a milestone that positions it as a leader not just in the textured hair space, but in the global beauty industry.
Kristian’s influence extends far beyond product innovation. She has collaborated with organizations such as Black Women for Wellness, the BOTOX® Cosmetics Confidence Project, and The ClassWomb. Her work has also been featured on ROKU TV’s Side Hustlers alongside Emma Grede and Ashley Graham. As an entrepreneur and advocate, she champions ingredient transparency, hormone-safe alternatives, and holistic healing through haircare.
“I hope more people have good hair days without compromising their health.”
For the Black community and the beauty industry as a whole, Kristian hopes Angelic Organics inspires a shift toward inclusivity, health, and sustainability. She envisions a future where people can enjoy good hair days without compromising their well-being. Every bottle and jar from Angelic Organics reflects that vision, crafted with biodegradable ingredients, sustainable packaging, and suppliers who share the same values.
Kristian Franklin is not just building a brand, she is building a movement. Through Angelic Organics, she is carving out space for women with textured hair to feel seen, safe, and celebrated in an industry that has overlooked them for far too long.
